Easter Egg Word Hunt

Today we had an Easter Egg Word Hunt in our class. Eggs were hidden around the room and inside each egg were letters. The kids had to figure out what the word was and write it down. They had a lot of fun looking for eggs and trying to figure out each word.

Healthy Eating

Last week, we were lucky enough to have Debbie Swanson from the Iowa State Extension Office come and talk to us about eating healthy. She came in the morning 3 days last week and talked to us about "My Plate/Tray" so we know how many fruits, vegetables, grains, protein, and dairy we should have on our plate or tray for each meal. She also talked to us about where our food comes from and being open to trying foods we think we may not like. Each day she brought us a healthy snack to try. We learned a lot and we all have been trying to make sure we have 4 or 5 things on our tray at lunch (many days the vegetable at lunch is an option and the kids don't have to have it on their tray, so we have been working on at least taking the vegetable and trying it). 

Our snack on the first day was celery, cheese, raisins, and crackers that we used to make a butterfly.
