Cat Party

We are talking about the letter C this week. To celebrate, we will have a "Cat Party" on Friday. Wear your favorite cat shirt or bring in your favorite stuffed animal cat. If you don't have either, that is fine!! I will have a few extra stuffed animal cats.

4th Grade Buddies

We are lucky to have Mrs. Sunderman's class as our 4th Grade Buddies this year. They come down and do different activities with us during holidays and a few buddies come down every morning and work on flashcards with us.

Iowa vs. Iowa State

It's a big weekend for Hawkeye and Cyclone fans, so our class took a vote on who we thought would win the game. Unfortunately for me, the kiddos chose Iowa State to win the big game....

First Tornado Drill

We got a chance to practice our first Tornado Drill today! Some were not as excited about it as others.  :)

Big Green Monsters

What to Work on at Home?

Writing Your Name- The only letter that should be capital is the first letter.

Telling/Recognizing Letters- Mix up the alphabet and see if your child can tell you the name of the letter, try just capitals first and then work on lowercase.

Letter Sounds- Mix up the alphabet and have your child give you the sound for the letter.

Counting to 100- Try counting to 25, then 50, then 75, and finally 100.

Writing Numbers- Write numbers from 0-20

Recognizing Numbers- Mix up numbers and have your child tell you the name of the number.
